Today I visited my local library with a sneaky offline marketing trick up my sleeve.

I went to the section containing books on marketing. I was looking for books on internet marketing and viral marketing. But sadly there weren’t that many to choose from so I ended up borrowing 12 misc. marketing books. My library beeing located in Denmark quite a few of the books are in Danish;

I brought the books home and found the business cards I had recently bought on vistaprint.dk. These cards clearly states the URL of my blog and what my blog is all about; Aiming for 10K daily visitors in 12 months.

I placed a few cards in each of the books and returned them to the library.

Naturally I hope for the next person borrowing any of these books will be interested in marketing, find my business card inside, and visit my blog. I have no way of tracking this though so I’ll not be able to conclude anything from this experiment. If you copy this trick you could create a unique URL for your library experiment and thereby make it trackable.
